Цей важливий крок здійснюється в межах проєкту «Створення громадської системи протипожежного захисту лісів в Україні», який Всеукраїнська екологічна ліга реалізує за підтримки Міжнародної програми Лісової служби США (U.S. Forest Service International Programs).
Добровільний пожежний рух — це не просто додаткова допомога фаховим рятувальникам. Це — реальна спроможність громади швидко реагувати на загрози, особливо в умовах війни, змін клімату та обмежених ресурсів. Добровольці допомагають локалізувати пожежі ще до прибуття спецслужб, проводять профілактичну роботу, знають місцеву специфіку й можуть діяти оперативно.
Розвинена добровільна пожежна команда — це ознака зрілої, згуртованої, відповідальної громади, яка не чекає допомоги ззовні, а сама дбає про свою безпеку, життя людей та збереження природи.
Співпраця з Кушугумською територіальною громадою для нас — це приклад того, як місцева ініціатива, підтримана знанням і досвідом, перетворюється на сталу систему захисту довкілля.
Kushuhum Community — an Example of a Progressive Approach to Safety and Environmental Protection!
The Kushuhum Territorial Community in Zaporizhzhia Oblast is confidently developing its own fire safety system. Its local fire and rescue unit, established on March 17, 2022, is now expanding its capacity — a volunteer fire brigade is being formed in the community.
This important step is taking place within the framework of the project «Creation of a Public System of Fire Protection of Forests in Ukraine», which has been implemented by the All-Ukrainian Environmental League with the support of the U.S. Forest Service International Programs.
The volunteer fire movement is not just an additional aid to professional rescuers. It represents the real ability of a community to respond quickly to threats, especially in the context of war, climate change, and limited resources. Volunteers help localize fires before emergency services arrive, conduct fire prevention outreach, know the local landscape, and can act swiftly.
A well-developed volunteer fire team is a sign of a mature, united, and responsible community—one that does not wait for outside help, but takes care of its own safety, the lives of its people, and the preservation of nature.
Our cooperation with the Kushuhum territorial community is a vivid example of how local initiative, supported by knowledge and experience, can grow into a sustainable system of environmental protection.
