Основною темою став курс з розвитку Лідерства у ДСНС, де учасники мали змогу обговорити ключові питання щодо становлення лідерських якостей, ефективності командної роботи та сучасних практик управління.
Метою курсу було не лише теоретичне окреслення поняття лідерства, але й аналіз його важливості в екстрених службах. Учасники порівняли традиційну модель управління «зверху-вниз» із сучасним підходом командного лідерства, що сприяє ефективнішій взаємодії всередині організацій.
Перший модуль був присвячений основам лідерства, акцентуючи увагу на важливості таких якостей, як обов’язок, повага та доброчесність. Учасники обговорювали, як лідерство впливає на ключові аспекти роботи пожежних підрозділів — безпеку, продуктивність і моральний стан команд.
Другий модуль був присвячений сучасним підходам до управління, зокрема аналізу ієрархічного стилю лідерства та розподіленого підходу, який стає дедалі актуальнішим у динамічних реаліях сучасного світу. Учасники змогли глибше усвідомити переваги розподіленого лідерства, яке сприяє формуванню згуртованих, ефективних і гнучких команд.
Третій модуль присвячувався розвитку лідерських якостей. Розглядалися такі методи, як майстер-класи, наставництво та самонавчання.
Особливу увагу було приділено створенню проактивного середовища, де кожен член команди може проявляти ініціативу. Було підкреслено, що чітка комунікація цілей і завдань сприяє згуртованості колективу та ефективності виконання операцій.
Ця ініціатива стала важливим кроком до зміцнення лідерського потенціалу в пожежній службі України, сприяючи ефективній роботі рятувальних підрозділів та захисту природних ресурсів.
Leadership Development in the Fire Service: Building Effective Teams and Developing Leaders
On October 16, 2024, a working meeting was held between experts from the US Forest Service and a representative of the Main Directorate of the State Emergency Service in Zaporizhzhya region on the Leadership Course with the organizational support of the All-Ukrainian Environmental League.
The main topic was the Leadership Development Course at the SESU, where participants had the opportunity to discuss key issues related to leadership development, teamwork efficiency and modern management practices.
The course was aimed not only at theoretically defining the concept of leadership but also at analyzing its importance in emergency services. Participants compared the traditional top-down management model with the modern team leadership approach, which promotes more effective interaction within organizations.
The first module focused on the basics of leadership, emphasizing the importance of qualities such as duty, respect and integrity. Participants discussed how leadership affects key aspects of fire departments' work, such as safety, productivity and morale.
The second module focused on modern approaches to management. The hierarchical style of leadership was compared with the distributed approach, which is becoming increasingly important in the rapidly changing conditions of the modern world. This section allowed the participants to understand the benefits of distributed leadership in building cohesive teams.
The third module was devoted to leadership development. Methods such as master classes, mentoring, and self-study were considered. Special attention was paid to creating a proactive environment where each team member can take initiative. It was emphasized that clear communication of goals and objectives contributes to team cohesion and efficiency of operations.
This initiative was an important step towards strengthening leadership capacity in the Ukrainian Fire Service, contributing to the effective work of rescue units and the protection of natural resources.
