Цей захід відбувся за участі експертів Лісової служби США, Державної служби України з надзвичайних ситуацій (ДСНС України), Українського гідрометеорологічного інституту ДСНС (УГМІ) та Національної академії наук України, Українського гідрометеорологічного центру ДСНС України.
Балабух Віра Олексіївна, кандидат географічних наук, завідувач відділу прикладної метеорології та кліматології Українського гідрометеорологічного інституту ДСНС було представлено доповідь щодо моніторингу та прогнозування природної пожежної небезпеки за умов погоди в Україні. Під час зустрічі було детально розглянуто характеристику регіонів України з різним класом напруженості пожежної небезпеки та підходи до визначення граничної межі пожежонебезпечного періоду.
Доповідь також включала опис комплексної методику оцінки і прогнозування пожежної небезпеки, а також інформацію про визначення класу і ступеня пожежної небезпеки та розробку регіональних шкал класів пожежної небезпеки відповідно до метеорологічних умов.
Під час конференції відбулось обговорення важливості та впровадження сучасних інструментів прогнозування для покращення управління та реагування на надзвичайні ситуації в Україні.
Досвід експертів Лісової служби США у використанні інструментів прогнозування є надзвичайно цінним для підтримки прийняття рішень у процесі управління та реагування на надзвичайні ситуації в Україні.
Впровадження таких інструментів допоможе значно знизити ризики природних катастроф, зокрема пожеж, і забезпечить своєчасну та ефективну реакцію на надзвичайні ситуації. Це сприятиме збереженню лісових ресурсів та захисту населення.
Online conference «Using the tools of the US Forest Service Forecasting Service to support decision-making in the process
of managing and responding to emergencies in Ukraine»
On February 27, 2024, an online conference «Using the US Forest Service Forecasting Service Tools to Support Decision-Making in the Process of Managing and Responding to Emergency Situations in Ukraine» was held with the organizational support of the All-Ukrainian Environmental League.
This event was held with the participation of experts from the US Forest Service, the State Emergency Service of Ukraine, the Ukrainian Hydrometeorological Institute of the SESU of Ukraine and the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, the Ukrainian Hydrometeorological Center of the SESU of Ukraine.
Vira Balabukh, PhD in Geography, Head of the Department of Applied Meteorology and Climatology of the Ukrainian Hydrometeorological Institute of the SESU, presented a report on monitoring and forecasting of natural fire hazards in Ukraine. During the meeting, the characteristics of the regions of Ukraine with different fire hazard intensity classes and approaches to determining the fire hazard period limit were discussed in detail.
The report also included a description of a comprehensive methodology for assessing and forecasting fire hazard, as well as information on determining the class and degree of fire hazard and developing regional scales of fire hazard classes in accordance with meteorological conditions.
The conference discussed the importance and implementation of modern forecasting tools to improve emergency management and response in Ukraine.
The experience of the US Forest Service experts in using forecasting tools is extremely valuable for supporting decision-making in the process of managing and responding to emergencies in Ukraine.
The introduction of such tools will help to significantly reduce the risks of natural disasters, in particular fires, and ensure timely and effective response to emergencies. This will help preserve forest resources and protecting the population from fires.
