Надійним партнером нашої ініціативи є 11-та Державна пожежно-рятувальна частина (м. Чорнобиль) — спеціалізований підрозділ, що входить до складу Чорнобильського загону ДСНС України.
Чорнобильська зона відчуження — унікальна територія, де ризик виникнення лісових пожеж надзвичайно високий. Значна частина лісових масивів розташована на радіоактивно забруднених ділянках, тому будь-яке загоряння несе серйозну загрозу довкіллю, здоров’ю людей та екологічній безпеці.
Фахівці Чорнобильського загону мають багаторічний досвід роботи в екстремальних умовах. Щороку вони ліквідовують сотні пожеж у зоні відчуження, запобігаючи масштабному поширенню вогню та вторинному радіоактивному забрудненню.
З початку повномасштабної військової агресії Російської Федерації ситуація у зоні значно ускладнилася. Ворожі обстріли та бойові дії неодноразово провокували виникнення пожеж, у тому числі на територіях із високим рівнем радіоактивного забруднення. Це створює додаткові виклики для рятувальників і потребує скоординованих дій та підвищеної готовності до реагування.

Fire Safety in the Chernobyl Zone: Experience of Cooperation
As part of the implementation of the project «Creation of a Public System of Fire Protection of Forests in Ukraine», which the All-Ukrainian Environmental League is carrying out with the support of the U.S. Forest Service International Programs, we pay special attention to cooperation with those who stand on the front line in the fight against fire every day.
A reliable partner of our initiative is the 11th State Fire and Rescue Unit (Chernobyl) — a specialized subdivision that is part of the Chernobyl Detachment of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine.
The Chernobyl Exclusion Zone is a unique area where the risk of forest fires is extremely high. A significant portion of the forest stands on radioactively contaminated land, so any fire poses a serious threat to the environment, human health, and ecological safety.
The specialists of the Chernobyl detachment have many years of experience working in extreme conditions. Every year they extinguish hundreds of fires in the exclusion zone, preventing the widespread spread of fire and secondary radioactive contamination.
Since the beginning of the full-scale military aggression by the Russian Federation, the situation in the zone has significantly worsened. Enemy shelling and combat operations have repeatedly provoked fires, including in areas with high levels of radioactive contamination. This creates additional challenges for rescuers and requires coordinated actions and increased readiness to respond.
